On November 11, Robert Cizek, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars China, released official images of the all-new mid-to-large SUV—the与众08—from Volkswagen Anhui on his social media platform. It has been revealed that the vehicle will enter production at Volkswagen Anhui in 2026, equipped with L2++ advanced driver-assistance capabilities, support for over-the-air (OTA) updates, and an 800V ultra-fast charging system offering a CLTC range of over 700 km. Additionally, Volkswagen plans to launch a total of 21 new energy models by 2027.

Exterior Design

The与众08 features a highly distinctive design, characterized by slim, upward-sweeping daytime running lights integrated with the central Volkswagen logo, creating a unique visual identity. The closed front grille, paired with a trapezoidal lower air intake and a subtle shovel-style front lip, enhances its sporty appeal. Volkswagen also highlighted that, leveraging Hefei’s ecosystem advantages and collaborating with Volkswagen Technology Company (its largest R&D center outside Germany), the model combines global technology with local innovation to accelerate breakthroughs in assisted driving, smart cockpits, and charging technology.

Profile & Dimensions

The side profile incorporates dual character lines, flush door handles, and a choice of two wheel designs, contributing to a modern and stylish appearance. At the rear, the vehicle adopts slim, horizontal taillights, offering a more understated look compared to the front. It measures 5,000 mm in length, 1,954 mm in width, 1,672 (1,688) mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm.

Intelligent Driving & Cockpit

The与众08 is the first Volkswagen model to achieve L2++ level advanced driver-assistance, enabling “parking-to-parking” functionality for effortless driving on both highways and urban roads. It also supports continuous evolution through remote OTA updates. The cabin features an AI assistant powered by a large language model, a wraparound cockpit design, eco-friendly and skin-friendly materials, and multiple connectivity interfaces front and rear.

Powertrain & Battery

The vehicle is powered by an EDF electric motor produced by Volkswagen Automatic Transmission (Tianjin) Co., Ltd., with a maximum power output of 230 kW. According to regulatory filings, it will be equipped with a battery pack supplied by CATL, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range exceeding 700 km.
