On October 29, the 2025 Tokyo Motor Show officially opened. At the Sharp booth, we saw its new concept car—the Sharp LDK+—which is built on Foxconn’s electric vehicle platform and positioned as an “extension of the living room.” Notably, compared with the previously released concept, this version is much closer to a production-ready state, with a mass-production model planned for launch in 2027.

In terms of exterior design, the Sharp LDK+ concept is more compact than earlier versions and adopts more conventional body proportions. Details include a closed front grille framed by a circular light strip, with the SHARP logo at the center, giving it a distinctive identity.

From the side profile, the vehicle features sliding doors for easier rear passenger access. The presence of traditional side mirrors and door handles also suggests the concept is nearing production maturity. The rear end echoes the front styling with a clean, cubic shape.

The Sharp LDK+ concept uses a B-pillarless design. When the front and rear doors are opened, they reveal a continuous, unobstructed space. It’s worth noting that the front row adopts a single-seat layout for the driver. The cabin offers a flat floor, a swiveling front driver’s seat, and a center console with a fold-out table. The rear bench seat, which can accommodate three passengers, is positioned further back, creating a living room-like atmosphere throughout the interior. The previously featured 65-inch screen from earlier concept versions has been removed. In its place, the updated model incorporates a projector and a retractable screen above the rear seats, transforming the cabin into a mobile cinema or remote workspace.

The Sharp LDK+ concept is all-electric and integrates Sharp’s AIoT platform, enabling connectivity with home devices such as appliances, air conditioners, and washing machines. Using AI, it learns user habits and preferences and supports V2H (Vehicle-to-Home) functionality, solar integration, and residential battery systems. We will continue to follow up on further news about this new vehicle.
