On November 10, the 10,000th unit of the all-new Volvo XC70 rolled off the production line at Volvo’s Taizhou plant in Zhejiang. The model was officially launched on September 26 with a limited-time price range of RMB 269,900 to 349,900. Positioned as a mid-to-large-size plug-in hybrid SUV, it is the first vehicle built on Volvo’s SMA Super Hybrid Architecture, delivering a CLTC pure-electric range of over 200 km and a comprehensive range exceeding 1,200 km.

The all-new XC70 retains Volvo’s classic design language, featuring an active grille that enhances aerodynamic performance. Signature “Thor’s Hammer” daytime running lights are paired with matrix LED headlights. The vehicle measures 4,815 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,650 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,895 mm. The rear continues Volvo’s iconic “Viking Axe” taillight design.

Inside, the cabin adopts a Scandinavian minimalist style. It is equipped with a triple-screen setup comprising a 15.4-inch high-resolution central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 92-inch augmented reality head-up display (AR-HUD). The voice control system supports natural wake-free interaction and four-zone voice recognition, allowing direct command execution. The XC70 also features a 23-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with a maximum output of 1,180 kW, 16-channel surround sound, and two headrest speakers integrated into the driver’s seat.

Under the hood, the XC70 utilizes a plug-in hybrid system combining a dedicated 1.5L turbocharged engine with either a single electric motor or a triple-motor setup (P1+P2+P4). The engine delivers a maximum power of 120 kW and a thermal efficiency exceeding 44%, paired with a dedicated 3DHT hybrid transmission.

The triple-motor variantemploys a high-performance P1+P2+P4 electric drive system, with motor outputs of 60 kW (P1), 107 kW (front P2), and 156 kW (rear P4), resulting in a total system output of 340 kW. It uses a 39.6 kWh NMC battery, providing a CLTC pure-electric range of 212 km and a total range of over 1,200 km. The battery supports fast charging from 0-80% SOC in just 23 minutes.

The rapid production milestone of 10,000 units underscores strong market acceptance and Volvo’s manufacturing efficiency for its all-new flagship hybrid SUV.This article is generated by Jiasou TideFlow AIGC GEO
