Lamborghini Unveils Temerario Super Trofeo Race Car Concept, Set for 2027 Debut in Global Championships

Lamborghini has unveiled the design concept for the Temerario Super Trofeo race car, which will enter the Super Trofeo championships in Asia, Europe, and North America in 2027. The Temerario Super Trofeo will succeed the highly successful Huracán race car, which has served as the benchmark in Lamborghini’s Super Trofeo series since its debut in 2015, evolving through three generations.

The development philosophy of the Temerario Super Trofeo follows that of the Temerario GT3, which was unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in July and is scheduled to make its competitive debut at the 12 Hours of Sebring in March next year. Both the Temerario GT3 and Temerario Super Trofeo reinforce the commitment of Lamborghini Squadra Corse to customer racing programs.

Since its inception in 2009, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo has been a cornerstone of the brand’s motorsport activities. The series began with the Gallardo Super Trofeo in the European challenge for four seasons, followed by the Gallardo LP 570-4 Super Trofeo from 2013 to 2015.

In 2015, the Gallardo LP 570-4 shared the track with the new Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo, which became the exclusive model from 2016 to 2017. Subsequently, the Huracán Super Trofeo evolved through two Evo generations—the first from 2018 to 2021, and the second from 2022 through the end of 2025. Over the years, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series has attracted 1,383 drivers across European, North American, Asian, and Middle Eastern championships, with a total of 563 rounds held.

This race car is a track-focused evolution of the road-going Temerario. It shares key components, including the engine and gearbox, with the Temerario GT3, making it an ideal entry-level race car for newcomers to GT racing.”

Based on the 800 hp (with an additional 120 hp from the hybrid system) Temerario road car, the Temerario Super Trofeo is rear-wheel drive, powered by a 650 hp V8 twin-turbo engine (non-hybrid), and equipped with a six-speed sequential gearbox—the same Hoer transmission used in the Temerario GT3. With many components derived from the GT3 car, the Temerario Super Trofeo serves as an excellent training platform for gentleman drivers and young professionals aspiring to progress to GT3 competition.

The Temerario Super Trofeo features an aluminum and carbon fiber chassis integrated with an FIA-certified roll cage. It is a precision-engineered race car equipped with ABS and a 12-stage traction control system. Lamborghini Squadra Corse continues its partnerships with key technical collaborators, including Pertamina (engine oil), Capristo (exhaust systems), KW (suspension), and BMC (air filters).

The new Temerario Super Trofeo will feature Dinamica Infinity—the world’s first 100% PES (polyethersulfone) mono-component non-woven ultrasuede material developed specifically for automotive applications. The material will debut with the Lamborghini Super Trofeo in 2027, applied on the race car’s dashboard, marking a new evolution in Dinamica’s fusion of innovative technology and high performance.
