First off, why is it called the "H6L"? The purpose is to allow it to join the former "Sales Champion" on the market, operating alongside it on the same stage. The Haval H6 is a compact SUV, while the Haval H6L upgrades its positioning to a midsize SUV; the two models complement each other. As a gasoline-powered model developed from the same source as the Haval Xiaolong MAX, its exterior design is naturally quite similar, appearing more youthful and technologically advanced compared to the currently sold H6.

Stepping inside the cabin, the autumn brown/beige interior creates a homely atmosphere. The floating layout of the 14.6-inch central control screen feels more high-tech than the screen in the current H6. The dashboard is largely wrapped in leatherette, though the exposed hard plastic on the door panels feels somewhat basic. A commendable feature is the stalk-style gear selector, which saves center console space. Coupled with the thoughtful inclusion of 28 storage compartments, everyday usability is significantly enhanced. The mid-to-high trim variant we test-drove featured a heated steering wheel, plus heated, ventilated, and massaging seats. Combined with seats utilizing dual-density foam technology, the comfort level is greatly improved.
