Subaru STI Sport Type RA (Record Attempt) Officially Released: Limited to 300 Units, Priced from ¥4.972 Million

Subaru has officially unveiled the STI Sport Type RA (Record Attempt), a model that undergoes comprehensive aerodynamic and powertrain enhancements, positioning it as a track-focused machine. The vehicle will be limited to 300 units, sold via a lottery system, with a starting price of ¥4,972,000 (approximately RMB 228,300).

The front fascia features an added splitter on the lower bumper and an STI badge on the grille. The sides are equipped with 18-inch BBS wheels finished in matte copper, housing gold-painted brake calipers. At the rear, a large carbon fiber spoiler dominates the visual impact.

Under the hood, the STI Sport Type RA inherits the FA24 2.4L horizontally opposed engine from the BRZ CNF race car. Its internal components, including pistons and connecting rods, have been precision-tuned for reduced vibration and smoother acceleration—though specific power figures have not been disclosed. The powertrain is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission that supports shift assist (automatic throttle blip on downshifts, no-lift upshifts).

Additionally, the chassis and exhaust system have been upgraded, while the rear differential incorporates cooling fins for improved heat dissipation.
